Prepare while you search for an appointment

Complete the registration form, gather identity and family documents, and check the latest Bürgeramt instructions. At the same time, speak to your employer about payroll deadlines and your health insurer about confirmation requirements. Waiting for an appointment does not mean every other conversation must pause.

Make banking a requirements exercise

List what you need immediately: salary receipt, rent payment, card purchases, cash, or transfers abroad. Compare banks against your current registration and residence documents. A temporary account may solve an immediate problem, but review fees and access rather than opening several accounts in a rush.

Leave regulated questions with regulated experts

Visa conditions, tax-class choices, freelance registration, and insurance suitability can have legal or financial consequences.
